This paper describes clause classification using the Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT) method in natural language processing. Furthermore, the study also discussed the development direction of ICM at present and in the short-term future, which should be paid more attention to by the construction industry.ĭetecting contractual risk information from construction specifications is crucial to succeeding in construction projects. This study also proposed practical improvement methods to improve ICM maturities for construction enterprises with different maturity levels. A case study of the assessments of two construction enterprises was conducted to validate that the proposed assessment system could be used by construction enterprises to quantitatively assess their ICM maturities and obtain both overall and specific assessment results.

A maturity scoring table containing five assessment dimensions and twenty assessment indicators was developed, and corresponding maturity levels and a radar chart of dimensions were designed. In this study, a maturity assessment system for ICM was formulated through literature reviews, questionnaires, expert discussions and a case study. However, it is still unclear how to assess the maturity of ICM. In the new era of Construction 4.0, the application of a large number of intelligent information technologies (ITs) and advanced managerial approaches have brought about the rapid development of intelligent construction management (ICM). This simplifies the process of rule checking of MEP systems in an automated manner. This study integrated both KBMS and BIM technologies to achieve automated rule checking for MEP. A Revit plug-in of MEP rule checking system was developed including functions of KBMS, Model Integrity Checking, Elements Space Checking, and Locating the non-compliant element in model view. The KBMS facilitates the management of MEP rules in the knowledge base. MEP rules for automated rule checking were collected, optimized, and stored in the MEP knowledge base.

Based on Knowledge Management and Building Information Modeling (BIM), an automated rule checking system integrated knowledge base management system (KBMS) for model information expansion, information extraction, system integrity checking, and element spacing checking was developed. However, MEP-based rule checking has not received adequate attention compared to automated rule checking in other domains. Due to the growing complexity of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) designs and the rules that govern them, performing rule checks manually has become expensive.
